Mark your calendars!  On August 21st, 2017 a solar eclipse will be visible across all of the Lower 48. For the WCBI coverage area, expect anywhere from 88% to 95% of the sun blocked out by the moon.  The farther northeast you live in our area the more of the sun that will be blocked out. This will create an eerie darkness from the late morning into the early afternoon.  The peak of the eclipse will be about 1:27 p.m. CDT for us.  As you can see from the map, the line of totality will be very close to northeast MS and west AL.  You will only have to travel to Nashville, TN to see the total solar eclipse in all its glory.  More details can be found here:
