3 Dead In Thanksgiving Fire

GADSDEN, Ala. (AP) – Etowah County authorities are investigating an early morning house fire that took the lives of three family members.

Sheriff Todd Entrekin says it happened just before 3 a.m. Thursday in the Gadsden’s Tidmore Bend community.

The bodies of 74-year-old Arthur Wayne Fambrough, 60-year-old Katherine Fambrough and his daughter, 40-year-old Jill Fambrough, will be sent to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences for an autopsy to determine the exact causes of death.

While on patrol, Deputy Eric Johns spotted the fire at the home. The State Fire Marshal’s Office and Etowah County Arson Task Force are working to determine how the fire started.
