COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI)-One little boy battling cancer got his wish today…to be a pilot just for a day.

12 year-old Jacob Partlow was diagnosed with lukemia in 2009 he and his family are orginally from Tupelo but moved down to Jackson so that Jacob could receive treatment at the Baston Children’s Hospital.

Today Jacob and his family got the “red carpet” treatment from the 14th Flying Training Wing where Jacob was paired with with instructor pilots from the 50th Flying Training Squadron.

Jacob learned about the base’s mission, got to see static aircraft displays, tour the fire department, and practiced flying in T-38 Talon simulators.
