AG’s Office Sends Saltillo Woman To Prison

TUPELO, MS (WCBI) – A Saltillo woman will spend a year in jail for taking more than $33,000 dollars from a woman her mother was caring for.   27 year old April Whaley admitted she took the victim’s bank card and withdrew the cash from the bank.

Whaley must also pay $2,000 in fines and court costs and make full restitution to the victim.  Whaley’s mother Dorothy Whitmon still faces trial in connection with the case.

The case was investigated by Russell Frazier and prosecuted by Special Assistant Attorneys General Marvin Sanders and Robert G. Anderson of the Attorney General’s Public Integrity Division/Vulnerable Adults Unit.
