AMORY, Miss. (WCBI)-Amory kicks off their 35th annual Railroad Festival today. The festival takes place at Frisco Park directly in front of City Hall which was once the Frisco building. Along with locomotive fun for the whole family, a variety of vendors have set up shop to sell their art work, knick knacks, and other hand made items. Leigh Hanratty a vendor from Alabama headed out this year to join other vendors, ” We have a store in Hamilton, Alabama and have to bring our stuff out here. We have been here before just to visit and know that a large crowd comes and we wanted to bring out stuff. ”
The event attracts around 60 thousand visitors each year and has been cited by the Southeast Tourism Society as one of the Region’s Top 29 events.
