LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – The Army’s Stem vehicle was parked on the campus of West Lowndes High School Friday morning.

STEM stands for Science Technology Engineering Mathematics. The vehicles is a modified tractor-trailer equipped with high definition TV and touch screen computers. Students, especially Junior ROTC Cadets, explore a futuristic scenario aimed at protecting lives from civil unrest. Its a teaching tool encouraging students to get involved in science more.

“In order to adapt to our changing world math and science is essential for you to learn,” said Jaquaioua Little, Jr. ROTC Cadet.

“Highlight some of the different technology. Robotics and unmanned aerial vehicles,” said SFC Matthew Oliver, U. S.  Army.

“Sir our mission here is to develop citizens of character,” said Rod Gluck, Aerospace Science Instructor.

The mobile STEM vehicle travels to elementary and high schools throughout the state and the nation.
