COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – Columbus police make an arrest in an early Monday morning stabbing death at a hotel.

Barry Allen Boozer, 41, of Columbus is charged with murder.

Judge Rhonda Ellis set his bond at $200,000.

Boozer remains in the Lowndes County jail.

Columbus police were called to America’s Best Value Inn on Highway 45 North about 2:30 AM on Monday.

Lowndes County Coroner Greg Merchant says Robert Elliot Thomas, 34, was found stabbed at the hotel and later died.

Police say Thomas and Boozer got into an argument in Boozer’s hotel room.

Investigators say the two knew each other and Thomas was a visitor in Boozer’s room.

Boozer was arrested last month on a possession of meth charge.
