LEE COUNTY, Miss. - A Fulton woman is sentenced to 40 years behind bars for a 2008 car crash that claimed the lives of two New Albany men. Carrie Nichols was sentenced Monday after pleading guilty to two counts of DUI death and maiming in Lee County Circuit Courth back in August.
Nichols admitted that she was driving under the influence when she collided with a vehicle at Coley Rd. and McCullough Blvd. in Tupelo on May 24, 2008.
19-year old Adrian Cannon and 20-year old Julius Dozier, both of New Albany, and three other people, including one of Nichols' children, were seriously injured. Nichols remains in the Lee County Jail.
