TUPELO, Miss. - Elvis Presley is an icon around the world and England is no exception.
A British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) radio crew paid a visit to Tupelo Wednesday (Nov. 4) in an effort to learn more about the singing legend.
Suzi Quatro, an American singer who had a hit song with 'Stumblin' In,' will host a radio tribute that will celebrate the 75th anniversary of Elvis' birth, which will be January 8th.
Quatro and her crew's first stop was the Elvis Presley Birthplace and Museum. They had lunch at Johnny's Drive-In before stopping by Tupelo Hardware.
"He's the reason I have done what I've done in my life," Quatro explained after touring Elvis' birthplace. "I saw him when I was six years old for the first time on Ed Sullivan and I decided I was going to be Elvis Presley. I can since say that I've now sold 50 million records so every thing I did I did because of him."
Quatro and her radio crew are the second British group to stop in Tupelo this week. Another BBC crew was in town for a six part radio series on Elvis that's also scheduled to run in early January.
