STARKVILLE, Miss (WCBI) - There was a setback in the construction of a Starkville hotel when it caught fire Thursday (7-5) morning. Officials say the fire at the La Quinta Inn on Highway 12 East broke out around ten o'clock.

Fire chief Rodger Mann says lightning hit the building while crews were working on the electrical wiring. No one was injured and crews were able to get out safely. Mann says the fire was contained to a 20x20 area on the roof, as firefighters were able to stop it from spreading through the rest of the building. There is damage to the roof and some support beams.
