KOSCIUSKO, Miss. (AP) - The Attala County School Board has decided to allow students grades seventh through 12th grade to wear shorts to school in August.

School officials tell the Star Herald (http://bit.ly/N0CIDp) that the shorts should not be tight, revealing or see-through and must touch the knee when standing. Official say skirts should extend to the bend of the knee.

Another change in the dress code will prohibit students from wearing shower shoes to school but they can wear dressier flip flops.

Officials say ripped clothing that shows undergarments will not be tolerated and tops worn must cover both shoulders.

The school system says all seen cell phones will be confiscated and held for 45 days. A $25 fee will be charged.
