Boil Water Notices

Posted by Kelsey Evans | July 12, 2012 / 04:09pm | Local News, Community event news
In Choctaw County, if you receive your water from the town of Weir, the Fentress, Reform, or Pan Handle Water Associations you will need to boil your water before using it. The alert affects almost 3700 customers.

A boil water notice has been issued for 1500 customers who receive their water from the New Candler Water Association in Prentiss County.

In Smithville, 28 customers from the intersection of Greg Peirce and McKenzie Road to Pierce Chapel Road, including Fire Tower Road are on alert.

And 810 customers who live in the town of Tishomingo are under a boil water notice.

Health officials strongly recommend that all water be boiled vigorously for one minute before it is consumed.

This precaution will last at least two full days and water system officials will be immediately notified when the boil water alert is lifted.
