Former Accountant Sought in Probe

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) -- The former accountant for the Mississippi University for Women Foundation is being sought by law enforcement.
Sources tell WCBI 46-year-old Jeannie Godbey of Starkville is being sought by federal authorities in connection with an investigation into funds missing from the Foundation and other cases.
Godbey was dismissed with cause this spring after the possible theft was discovered by Foundation officials and turned over to other agencies for investigation. The Foundation handles gifts and donations to the university.
MUW would not comment, calling the case a personnel matter.
Godbey worked for the Foundation for about three years
Sources tell WCBI as much as $30,000 was reported missing.
Godbey had not been arrested by late Monday afternoon.
