HOOVER, Ala. (WCBI/Clarion-Ledger) -- Ole Miss freshman Channing Ward has received his necessary test score on the ACT and is expected to qualify for this fall.

Ward, from Aberdeen, was unquestionably the top prospect in Ole Miss' class of 2012. The defensive end was an Under Armour All-American and rated a five-star prospect by Scout.com (four by Rivals.com).

He committed to Ole Miss at the all-star game in December over offers from the rest of the SEC. Ward had not yet enrolled at Ole Miss for either summer session because of his academics.
