Two north Mississippi men were arrested on drug charges following a traffic stop Tuesday evening that led to the discovery of approximately $10,000 in cocaine, Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics Director Marshall Fisher said Friday.

Steven B. Cathey, 33, of Byhalia and Nicholas A. Langston, 34, of Coldwater each was charged with one count of possession of cocaine with intent to deliver.

A Mississippi Highway Patrol trooper stopped the 2008 Hyundai Accent the men were traveling in for speeding northbound on Hwy. 45 in Lowndes County. The ensuing search of the vehicle uncovered three-and-a-half ounces of cocaine, which led the MHP trooper to call in an MBN agent to further the investigation, Director Fisher said.

MBN seized the automobile, Director Fisher said, and arranged for transportation of the two men to the Lowndes County Jail.

Bond has been set at $20,000 for each suspect.
