Lee Co. Standoff Ends Peacefully

LEE CO., Miss. - (WCBI) A stand-off in Lee County ends peacefully. It happened at a home in the Brewer Community around 10:15 a.m Friday.
Lee County Sheriff Jim Johnson says his deputies were called about a man threatening to hurt himself. When authorities arrived on the scene, the man reportedly answered the door with a gun.
About an hour into negotiations, the unidentified man released a 17-year old hostage.
Johnson says it took about two hours to get the man to surrender. He is being treated at North Mississippi Medical Center.
No charges have been filed, but deputies did recover weapons from the home.
