TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) - The long arm of the law reaches from Lee County all the way to Mexico to nab one of the FBI's most wanted fugitives.
Juan Morales was indicted back in 2007 on 2 counts of sexual battery involving a child and 1 count of fondling a minor.
He fled, but his trial went on without him.
Morales was convicted on all counts and sentenced to 40 years in prison.
Last month, Morales was spotted in Mexico. U-S Marshals arrested him there.
He was flown to Memphis, and Lee County Deputies brought him back to Mississippi late last week.
Monday (7-23)morning, Morales was taken to Parchman.
Sheriff Jim Johnson says this is the first case in Lee County that went to the jury without the defendant being there.
