UNDATED (WCBI) -- Shoppers looking for a deal on back-to-school clothing and shoes will be out in full force this weekend. Mississippi's annual sales tax holiday begins at 12:01 Friday (7-27) and ends at midnight Saturday (7-28).

Clothing and shoes, costing less than $100 per item, are exempt from the 7.25% sales tax.

There are a few rules, Accessories, school supplies, computers and athletic items are not included. Clothing and shoe rentals aren't eligible. Layaway items are not eligible.

Alabama's sales tax holiday is scheduled for August 3rd through the 5th. There, shoppers will be able to buy clothing, school supplies and computers with no sales tax.
