LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) -- Lowndes County investigators are looking for at least two people who forced their way into a New Hope home and robbed the residents of guns and cash at gunpoint.

Detectives say the home invasion happened at about 10 Tuesday night on Golding Road off Highway 69 South. A man and woman were inside when the two black male suspects came in armed with a shotgun.

In addition to cash, they made off with a number of rifles and shotguns as well as some other items. Deputies think other suspects likely were waiting outside.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Lowndes County Sheriff's Department or Crime Stoppers.
