A record-setting campaign in summer league competition has netted Mississippi State junior outfielder Hunter Renfroe a place of honor at Povich Field, the home of his summer league baseball team, the Bethesda (Md.) Big Train.

In ceremonies prior to the Big Train's Thursday night's regular season, Renfroe and teammate Hugh Adams became the first two players in CRCBL history to have their numbers retired and enshrined on the outfield fence at Povich Field.

With four runs scored during a 2-for-3, 3-RBI performance against Vienna, Renfroe established his third Cal Ripken Collegiate Baseball League mark this season. The Crystal Springs, Miss., native has hit 16 home runs, collected 52 RBI and scored 48 runs, all records in the eight-year old summer collegiate league.

Renfroe's parents, Tammy and Todd Renfroe, were on hand for the ceremony.

Bethesda (25-16) finished third in the 10-team wooden bat league's regular season heading into this weekend's four-team league playoffs.
