STARKVILLE, Miss. - (WCBI) Oktibbeha County Democrats bring politics back to the dinner table.

After several years on the back burner, the Democratic Party revived its "Beans and Greens" fundraiser at the Starkville Sportsplex.

It is a grassroot movement that not only encourages residents to vote, but also brings up issues surrounding state and national politics.

Rep. Tyrone Ellis was the keynote speaker.

All money raised Monday night will go to buying campaign materials, shuttling voters to the polls in November as well as funding other costs to run their headquarters.
