SMITHVILLE, Miss (WCBI)-- Smithville residents can now get updates with a ring of the telephone. Officials say that by calling the information line, you can hear updates about the town's recovery along with information about community events, town meetings, and a list of town officials.

In the future, the hotline will also include boil water notices and updates on construction. You can reach the hotline at 217-5000. An E-F5 tornado killed 16 people, destroyed 153 homes, and all but one of the town's businesses on April 27th, 2011.
