Discrimination Lawsuit

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI)-- A Tupelo police officer wins a discrimination lawsuit against her employer. A federal jury ruled yesterday; Bethany Smith was passed over for a promotion because she is a woman. Smith applied for an open narcotics position but was passed over for a man. She was instead promoted to detective. The civil trial began Monday and concluded with a three thousand dollar award to Smith.
