COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) - A Columbus doctor has his federal court case moved to allow his attorney Rod Ray to address some legal issues in the case.

Doctor Alex White was part of a an investigation into a so called pill mill operation. Federal, state, and local drug agents raided the offices of Dr. White and Dr Mark Burtman.

Burtman waived indictment and plead guilty to three charges.

White is scheduled to begin his trial October 22nd in an Oxford federal courtroom. White faces 8 counts of conspiracy to dispense a controlled substance and lying about having sexual relations with a patient.

White faces up to 40 years in prison and $2 million in fines if found guilty.
