TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) -- Starting Monday crews will begin construction on a mill and overlay project that extends approximately nine miles along State Route 145 from Barnes Crossing to State Route 348.

The northbound lane of State Route 145 will be closed to traffic from Barnes Crossing to Saltillo.

Motorists will encounter lane closures in both the northbound and southbound lanes.

Drivers are urged to use caution when traveling these areas.

Roadwork is anticipated to be completed by October 12th.

The project was awarded to APAC at a cost of just over $2.5 million.
