COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI)-- A man is arrested early Monday morning for firing near a crowd of people. 32 year old Jermaine Antoni Phinizee was picked up by police on Pickensville Road just after one. Police say they received a call of shots fired on 10th avenue and 9th street. When they arrived, they found a crowd of people in the street. Witnesses told  police, people were beating on Phinizee's car when he pulled out his gun and fired off a few shots then drove away. He is charged with discharging a firearm in city limits.
