Company to Enforce Downtown Parking Rules

OXFORD, Miss. (WCBI) - License recognition software will be used to manage parking in downtown Oxford. Standard Parking will enforce a two-hour time limit from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. for the next three years. Those ticketed will receive a fine, while habitual offenders will be booted. Officials say they hope the new ordinances, which still need to be adopted by Alderman, will save store-front parking for short-term users and not employees.
