PASS CHRISTIAN, Miss. (WCBI) - For the first time in 20 years sea turtles are nesting on Mississippi mainland beaches.
According to the Associated Press, scientists are keeping a close eye on nests to see if any hatchlings emerge.
The Institute for Marine Mammal Science first reported a loggerhead turtle nest in June at Pass Christian and have confirmed a second.
The endangered sea turtles have been spotted on Dear Island and Cat Island beaches.
