Mississippi University For Women freshmen students are all scattered throughout the area at non profit businesses in Columbus where they are lending a helping hand.
For one day during Welcome Week, incoming "W" students get a chance to get acclimated to life in the Friendly City, a place where they will call home for possibly the next four years.
This morning [Tuesday] five of those students were stacking books at the Columbus Lowndes Public Library.
The library presently has a children's area under renovation.
Other areas where MUW students are doing community work are The Columbus Arts Council, Salvation Army Thrift Store, and the Humane Society.
The students may even want to continue volunteering at those locations while in Columbus if they so desire.
