Columbus High School came very close to a playoff berth in 2011 but needed too much help they didn't end up getting down the stretch. This year the Falcons don't want to rely on anyone else when it comes to their playoff fate.

"Last year going into the last game we were in a 3-way tie. Anybody could go from third to fifth. We happened to be the team that went to fifth" said Head Coach Tony Stanford.

Offensive Lineman Jake Thomas is one of the Falcons most high-profile players and knows things need to change.

"We have to execute. We are starting to finally get the mentality we need and getting that part down" he said.
