Starkville High School may have one of the best Coach-Quarterback combinations in the state this season with Jamie Mitchell and Gabe Myles. The two will be going into this year very focused after coming so close to a 5A State Championship in 2011.

"I've said it before, sometimes coming in second isn't the worst thing that can happen. It let our guys see how close we were" said Mitchell.

"We know how it felt to lose. We don't want to feel that again. It's just win every game and we'll find ourselves back in the State Championship" said Gabe Myles.

Starkville opens Friday night (8/17) against Noxubee County.
