- Behind The Scenes
During the Base Community Council luncheon held at Columbus Air Force Base Thursday a president was elected to be at the helm.
The action-oriented organization supports the common interest of the military and civilian communities through participation.
Elected head of the special joint cooperation between citizens of the Friendly City and it's military colleagues, banker Larry Cantrell.
Cantrell is Senior Vice President and Trust Officer at Cadence Bank IN Columbus.
Cantrell says he now has an excuse to be at the air force base more often.
Cantrell says when it comes to the ever looming BRAC Talks, he is always hopeful.
"One of the greatest things that's going for the base I think is the community and the base. Its just this combination of working together. When you come out to the base these people can't say enough nice things about the community. The community loves the base. And so they are going to continue to work together. I guarantee you, the shoulders will be put together to make this base very popular," said Cantrell.
