COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) - A Columbus man charged with capital murder has been released from jail.
47 year old Curtis Hinton was released Friday from Lowndes County Detention Center after spending more than a month behind bars.
A Grand Jury couldn't find enough evidence to indict Hinton on capital murder charges.
A warrant was issued for Hinton's arrest in June for his alleged involvement in a cold case dating back to the late 1990's.
George Wilbanks was found dead in his home after being stabbed and strangled November 2, 1997.
Wilbanks's murder was the second in a string of five murders between 1996 and 1998.
Hinton and his family have claimed his innocence since the beginning saying the two men were friends.
