(WEBSTER COUNTY, Ms)(WCBI)-For a Webster County congregation, whose church was struck by lightning Saturday, its going to be a test of faith.
Smoke could still be seen Monday from what is left of the burned out hull of Victory Full Gospel Baptist Church on Tank Hill Road just outside of Eupora.
Pastor Johnnie Richardson got the phone call just after 4 o'clock Saturday morning.
"Well it was hard to accept and it was hard to believe at first and I said maybe they have the wrong building you know. I thought maybe the firemens you know had the wrong building and it was just hard to grasp," said Richardson.
Faith seems to be intact among worshipers at the 50 member church.
They are vowing to rebuild and come back better than ever.
"Basically they are encouraged because we have been, built this church on faith. We talked about faith and trust in God so basically they are pretty stable in their trust in God," added Richardson.
That faith is sure to be tested to max.... they had no insurance.
"So, when things happen even though it hurts us, but God knows what he is doing. And it all works for our good," said Richardson.
On Sunday members of that congregation worshiped at Ackerman Full Gospel Baptist Church which is 17 miles away.
