MONROE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) - One man is killed and another is hospitalized after tanker truck collides with a tractor in Monroe County. The accident happened Monday (8-20) morning on Highway 45 near the Lackey Community. 62 year old Daniel Clardy, of Hamilton, was pulling a bush hog with a small Mahindra tractor, when an 18 wheeler hit him from behind. According to Monroe County Coroner Allen Gurley, Clardy was dead on arrival at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He suffered a fatal head injury. The driver of the tanker truck, 38 year old Donald Darham, of Hamilton, was also transported from the scene by ambulance. His injuries are believed to be minor. The Mississippi Highway Patrol continues to investigate.
