WEST POINT, Miss. (WCBI) – The West Point community came together in prayer and celebration this afternoon as children are on their way back to school. The prayer rally was held at Third Mount Olive Church in West Point. Everyone was invited to join as they helped students get ready to start their new school year. There was music, dancing, and of course prayer.
“You know what happened at Sandy Hook could happen here in West Point. So we want to pray for our students before they go back to school,” says Jerrlon McKinney.
At the end of the prayer rally, students were given some of basic school supplies like notebooks, pencils, and a backpack.
