Breaking update: Man Dies After Being Hit By Vehicle

Emergency crews rushed to Sim Scott Park Nov. 9.

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – The man a driver targeted and hit last week died this morning in Tupelo.

33-year-old Christopher Ross died from injuries suffered after a car hit him while he was walking in Columbus near Sim Scott Park.

Police say the driver hit the Columbus man on purpose last Wednesday, Nov. 9. They arrested Willie Moody the next day. He’s facing an aggravated assault charge.

Coroner Greg Merchant has ordered an autopsy.

The incident happened at the intersection of 19th Street and 8th Avenue North.
