BECKER, Miss.(WCBI)–More disaster service centers have opened up in two North Mississippi Counties.

The federal disaster declaration is opening up the way for centers in Prentiss and Monroe counties.

In Monroe a center opened on Monday thats centrally located at the Becker Community Center on Highway 25 South. Emergency Management Director Bunky Goza is encouraging residents affected by severe storms, tornadoes, high winds and flooding to meet with representative of FEMA and the small business administration.

Applicants needing assistance are being asked to bring supporting documents and even pictures of damages.

“Appliances, clothes, bedding. Thats on the personal property side. So its the real property, the damages to the home and or the damages to the personal property. And thats for homeowners or renters, either one,” said Gary Grabow/FEMA.

“First register with FEMA. Its very important they do that. If they are referred to the small business administration then its important that they complete an SBA loan application even if they are not interested in a loan from SBA,” said Jack Camp/SBA.

In Prentiss County the center is in the Chancery Clerk Building on Main Street in Booneville.
