EUPORA, Miss.(WCBI)–The town of Eupora and Webster County welcomes a new business to their area.

Tilsatec becomes the latest industry operating out of the old Ansell-Hawkeye plant in Eupora.

“To really be honest with you I’m kinda lost for words because it happened so suddenly. Because when we, I gave them my keys on the 31st of July I had no idea. That within 5 weeks plus that we would be back, we would be employed again,” said Johnny A. Butts/Tilsatec Employee.

“And thats about the time that we were looking to expand our operations in the United States. Which gave us the manufacturing base and experience sewers as well as the facilities that have opened up as well,” said Jeremy Whitham/President-Tilsatec.

“We’re looking at a large well funded established company thats going to be able to bring a high grade product line,” said Burchfield/Eupora Mayor.

Armed with the idea of expanding operation in the United States, using a local labor force, Tilsatec is making, cut puncture and flame-resistant gloves, sleeves, and other protective garments….. in Mississippi.

The project adds up to an initial corporate investment of $800,000, creating 22 jobs. Tilsatec is also using the Roseburg Forest Products Plant just a few miles away.

“That will be our main operations, for warehousing in the United States to support both Canada and the United States and also Mexico and South America. So a hub and spoke type distribution network for our distribution throughout the Americas,” said Jeremy Whitham.

The new company is looking to expand by doubling it’s efforts by 2016.

“A very stable product line. A product line that most of the production here in Eupora will be going overseas and exported,” said Dan Burchfield.

“Its going to be great for this community and its going to do a lot of things in the community. I’m excited about it,” said Johnny A. Butts.

Tilsatec is built on 135 years of experience in yarn and textile design, offering a fully comprehensive service from raw materials to end product.
