CALHOUN COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – We’re learning more about the Calhoun County inmate who stole a patrol car and remains on the run from law enforcement.

Daniel Easley escaped about 5 PM on Sunday.

Sheriff Greg Pollan says Easley was working in the yard of the jail and somehow got access to the vehicle.

The squad car was found a few hours later in Oktibbeha County, near Maben, just off A.W. Williams Road.

Easley is one of several people arrested in an arson for scheme.

The investigation centers around the fire that destroyed the West Point Stockyard in June 2015.
