CASA Open House in Clay County

WEST POINT, Miss. (WCBI) – They stand beside our youngest citizens, speak up for their best interests and give them hope for the future.

Wednesday (9-18) afternoon, Court Appointed Special Advocates for Abused and Neglected Children held an open house in Clay County.

More than a dozen people were on hand to learn how they can help change a young person’s life for the better.

With federal budget cuts on the horizon, volunteers are needed more than ever.

Clay County CASA Program Director Mary Jean Vance says, “The volunteer does not have to be a professional person. You don’t need a degree. You just need a caring heart.”
