STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI)- Children in Oktibbeha County will have a brighter Christmas this year thanks to Second Baptist Church in Starkville.

Members of the congregation donated 65 bikes to elementary, city and county schools.

Before loading them up on a truck, church members brought the bikes to service for a blessing.

Pastor Joseph Stone says he hopes the bikes will bring joy to children this holiday season.

“The Lord just put it on my heart that we as a church can be a blessing and also at this time of year we know that there are many families that are struggling that are without and we feel this is a good way to show them that Christ is the reason for the season by giving them something that they can cherish for a long time,” says Pastor Stone.

All the bikes will be delivered to the schools Monday.
