Southern Miss Headed to Tallahassee for NCAA Regional

HATTIESBURG, Miss. (WCBI/USM Athletics) – The field of 64 for the 2016 NCAA Baseball Championship was announced Monday morning and the Southern Miss baseball team will travel to the Tallahassee Regional as the No. 2 seed.

The Golden Eagles (40-18) play No. 3 seed South Alabama (40-20) at 11 a.m. CT, while the host and No. 1 seed Florida State (37-20) takes on No. 4 Alabama State (38-15) at 5 p.m. CT.

Southern Miss earned selection as an automatic qualifier by defeating Rice 3-2 in Sunday’s Conference USA championship game at Pete Taylor Park.

The program makes its 13th overall appearance in the NCAA Tournament and first since 2011.

All-Tournament Books for the 2016 NCAA Baseball Tallahassee Regional ($55 for reserved seats and $40 for general admission seats) will go on-sale to the public at 2 p.m. CT on Monday, May 30 at www.seminoles.com. Phone and walk-up orders begin at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday morning by calling 888-378-6653 or visiting the main Seminole Ticket Office located at Doak Campbell Stadium.

Single-game tickets for the Friday sessions ONLY will go on sale via the web (seminoles.com) beginning at 8:00 a.m. Friday. In-person and phone sales of single-game tickets for Friday’s games will begin at 8:30 a.m. Friday. Single-game tickets for games on subsequent days will go on sale on the web following the last game of the previous day and at Dick Howser Stadium two hours prior to the start of the first game.

Prices for single game general admission tickets are $12.00 for adults and $8.00 for youth (ages 5-18). If available, reserved seats single game tickets are $18.00.
