COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — Funeral Services Director Vanessa Carter dedicated her life to serving others.

On Saturday, family and friends gathered to pay tribute to her life and legacy. 

Carter was a third generation owner of Carter’s Funeral Services in Columbus. She also co-founded the “Columbus Gospel Youth Choir” in 1996, along with Willie Robinson.

Past and present choir members gathered Friday night for funeral services held at Columbus High School.

Carter, who passed away last week, was buried Saturday morning. She was 52.
