Video: Columbus Man Pleads To Armed Robbery

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – A Columbus man will spend 20 years in prison for armed robbery.

Tyree Sparks, 23, made the plea deal in Lowndes County Circuit Court this week.

Sparks was facing multiple charges, including the robbery and kidnapping of a railroad worker.

Columbus investigators also accused Sparks of robbing two people on 3rd Avenue South back in November 2015.

The plea deal allows Sparks to plead guilty to one count of armed robbery.

The other charges, including a possession of a weapon by a convicted felon charge were retired.

Sparks was also give five years probation and has to pay fines.
