Columbus, Miss. (WCBI) – The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation takes over the shooting in North Columbus that left one person injured Thursday night.

Officers were called to the parking lot of the Boys and Girls Club on 14th Avenue North about 7:45 PM.

The victim was found inside a bullet riddled Honda Accord.

Chief Selvain McQueen tells WCBI that the shooting occurred at a gas station located on the corner  of 14TH Ave. N and  Waterworks Road, and someone attempted to drive the victim to the hospital before calling 911.

Columbus Police Chief Selvain McQueen says the investigation was turned over to M.B.I. because of a possible conflict of interest.
