LOUISVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – A Winston County man survived serving his country in Iraq. Now he’s home but has suffered a tragic injury that has the community rallying to help him.

Thirty-six year old Chris Higgingbotham was injured in a motorcycle accident just last month after another vehicle pulled out and hit him. He had to have his right leg amputated, is undergoing physical therapy and will have to have more operations. His friends and family have set up a website asking the public for donations. Higginbotham’s brother John White says this life-changing event has left his financial future uncertain.

“We have no idea of how much money it’s going to take to remodel his house, pay his bills until we can get a supplemental income coming in so anything we can get would be greatly appreciated,” says White.
