STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) — Late-night revelry on weekends may get a little easier and safer for Mississippi State University students this fall.

Starting Aug. 14, Cowbell Cabs will provide free rides weekend nights between campus and Starkville’s nightspots.

The cab service replaces transit buses that had been providing similar service.

The Student Government Association is reallocating $23,000 from its share of the city tourism tax designated for the university to pay for the service.

Student leaders think the more personalized service will better meet student needs.
