Man Shot With Bird Shot In Lowndes Shooting

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – Lowndes County investigators say an evening of drinking leaves one man with bird shot in his lip and arm.

The shooting happened happened on Dale Road, near Caledonia, on Wednesday evening.

Lowndes County Investigator Ryan Rickert says Joshua Stewart, 24, was charged with aggravated assault with a weapon on Thursday.

Rickert say “alcohol played a contributing factor” in the shooting after Stewart and an unidentified friend got into an argument.

The victim did receive non life-threatening injuries.

As of Thursday afternoon, Stewart had not made a court appearance.
