Donations Accepted for Amory American Legion Hut Yard Sale

AMORY, Miss. (WCBI) – The American Legion Hut has been a fixture in Amory for more than 50 years.

Like any old building, it could use some updating.

The local Women’s Auxiliary has taken up the challenge.

They hope to upgrade the kitchen, the lighting and replace the American Legion flag.

They are organizing a massive yard sale to raise money for the project.

The deadline to make donations to that yard sale is March 14.

Anything you can spare is appreciated, but the ladies would love to see some clothes donated.

Women’s Auxiliary President Peggy Burnside says, ” We are asking for donations. We need more members, because membership would help pay the bills here too, and of course, if we can rent the building out for various things, because people used to have birthday parties and have such good times here.”

Once again the drop-off deadline is March 14, and the yard sale will be at the American Legion Hut on April.
